Talented youngsters lit up the stage at CableVision’s ‘Salute to Service’ awards on Saturday. Several different groups of musicians, singers, actors and dancers — many of whom had not yet aged to double figures — delighted the audience at the Fairmont Southampton.

A teenager who admitted taking two motocross bikes and damaging them had a social inquiry report ordered on him today.

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

+ Two students drown
TWO young men, who were both still in school, drowned in unrelated incidents while liming with their friends at Maracas Bay in North Trinidad and at a beach in Guapo, South Trinidad on Sunday. Up to press time, both bodies were still unaccounted for.

+ Young Baptists sing a new song
Shepherd Ricardo Eastman of the True Worshippers Spiritual Tabernacle, Sangre Grande yesterday called for youth in the Spiritual Baptist faith to carry the baton of upholding the religion since elders had fought a hard battle to get the faith to where it is today.
