+ Dominican Republic adolescents account for 23% of births
Adolescents aren’t emotionally prepared for pregnancy and face a  higher risk in the gestation process, said Public Health Ministry maternal-infant and adolescent health director Jose Deláncer.  “23 percent of the births in the country are adolescents. In the public services 225,000 of the births attended per year are minors.”
