Contents: Recipients of YEN’s Inaugural Round of Grants Announced The selected projects include 4 from Côte d'Ivoire, 3 from Guinea, 4 from Liberia and 4 from Sierra Leone. Selected projects received high marks for innovation, sustainability and a commitments to results. YEN Evaluation Clinic in Damascus YEN brought together a team of evaluation specialists from its core partners at ILO, World Bank and UN with employment practitioners from the Middle East to share best practice in conducting rigorous evaluations. The Clinic was hosted by the Syria Trust for Development’s Shabab Programme. Important outcomes on how to design evaluations for youth employment projects were produced. Private Sector Demand for Youth Labour in Senegal and Ghana YEN and the International Youth Foundation joined forces and resources to commission a study on private sector demand for youth labour in the 2 countries. Among the businesses surveyed for the study there are over 7000 potential job openings in 5 key industries. The study provides important primary data on labour demand in West Africa.
