On the frame of the Project Promoting the Value of Free, Independent and Plural Media and the Common Participation for the Development among Young men and women, we invite you to participate on three important events associated to the podcasting diffusion. By podcast it is understood a compress audio file (frequently on MP3 audio format) or also on video (in this case also named vodcast) that can be produced in a simple way and be widely spread through internet on a systematic way.

The Project Components are:

* Podcasts Contest: Communication Media, Young People and Social Participation
* Free Podcasting Courses using distance learning platforms
* Podcasters Community

PODCAST Contest

The goal of this Contest is to spread the Podcast production (audio or video), of which contents display the prominent participation of young people on the community life in favour of the development.

To be a part of this Contest you have to be a young person between 14 and 24 years old, native or residents in Latin America and the Caribbean countries. The projects can be in Spanish, Portuguese and English.

The Contest will start on September 1st and end on October 30th.

PODCASTING Courses

If you know what podcasting is and you want to improve and increase your competences on the production of scripts, editing and learning new strategies to increase your audience, we invite you to participate on the PRODUCTION OF AUDIO AND VIDEO PODCAST Contest 2 (advanced level).

If you don't know what this is but you would like to learn to be able to create your own radio programs on internet, then take this chance to participate on the introduction to AUDIO AND VIDEO PODCAST PRODUCTION AND EDITING (begginer level).

Both courses are free, planned by the Youth Portal for Latin America and the Caribbean in coordination with radiosuronline.net and the support of UNESCO. We will be updating shortly.
