BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS: Youth health workshop educate youngsters about healthy lifestyle. On Saturday last several youngsters between ages five and twelve attended the workshop conducted by the BVI Diabetes Association as part of its outreach education in the community, under the theme: "Your health is your wealth". BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS: Over 250 athletes compete in revised BVI Youth Championships. The future stars of track and field were on full display Saturday at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds, as the BVI Athletics Association Boys and Girls Youth Championship, in conjunction with the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, attracted over 250 Under  15 athletes from Primary and High Schools across the Territory. BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS: IFC expands its high school education programme. Students in Forms 3 - 5 in high schools throughout the Territory will be more educated about the financial services industry and the existing career opportunities as a result of initiatives undertaken by the BVI International Finance Centre (IFC). CUBA:  Young Cuban Talent in Track and Field. The current Olympic cycle has just started but young Roberto Skyers Pérez already amazes track-and-field insiders thanks to his 20.24 seconds in 200 meters. The 17 years old athlete, born in the municipality of Minas, demolished the earlier junior national record, 20.37 seconds, registered by former Cuban star Roberto Hernández, back in 1986. DOMINICA: Young man fined $1000 for a joint. Daniel Telemacque, 21, of Bath Estate has to pay a $1000 fine by May 31 to avoid being sent to jail for two months, after being caught by police smoking a marijuana cigarette. Full article


DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: New Dominican Constitution bolsters education. The Constitution Revisory Assembly last night approved an amendment guaranteeing all children’s right to education, including those of illegal immigrants, a right stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. ST LUCIA: Youth Caught with Ammunition during Traffic Check. A young man of Sarrot, quarter of Castries, currently faces a charge of Possession of Ammunition, after he was arrested by officers attached to the Traffic Unit. Full article
