A 16-YEAR-OLD student remains hospitalised after consuming some bleach in an apparent suicide attempt after his parents refused to allow him to attend a “back to school” lime yesterday. Rather than starting classes, scores of students in south Trinidad began the new school year protesting with their parents for better conditions to study and learn. The HCL Group of Companies held its first charity Golf Tournament in February and it was a resounding success that was supported by the business community. HCL was able to meet its target to contribute $50,000.00 to the Youth Training Centre (YTC) in Arouca.
