Brooklyn Caribbean Youth Fest: "Heritage is Timeless". Brooklyln Caribbean Youth Fest: "Heritage is Timeless" is a marvelous family-friendly event featuring culture at center-stage. This wonderful showcase highlight performances of folk and contemporary art of the Caribbean region and it is FREE to the public.

The reason for developing Brooklyn Caribbean Youth Fest is based on the belief that hopelessness is not a choice we must give to our youth. We must enrich their lives with positive choices to create a path for success. In this age of rush and electronics, the arts depict cultural evolutions, illustrating achievements of past and present experiences.

It is my firm belief that culture is a critical and necessary component to the education of every young persons life. Repertoires of childhood are reflective of their development into healthy adults. The knowledge of self passed on through songs, dance, stories and poetry, distributes the origination of heritage - one's cultural legacy - along its pathways. Therefore it is inarguable that insufficient distribution not only stymies, but acts as an eraser of cultural habits.

Brooklyn Caribbean Youth Fest: "Heritage is Timeless" is an effort to showcase and preserve Caribbean culture because culture must remain central to the Caribbean community. There are few regions in the world which have as diverse a culture as that of the Caribbean region. Emanating from these islands are cultural forms which vibrate and echo throughout the world addressing its African roots, European, Chinese and Indian influences.
 
Hamptonians New York is committed to doing its parts to help increase opportunities for all children with an emphasis on the Caribbean American community. Our youth must become symbols of national pride, reveling in the richness of our history. The principles of "our" achievements, struggles and triumphs are rooted in the practice of the traditions of our foreparents and recapturing symbolic significant habits is vital.

Caribbean culture is replete with positive reinforcements which have guided this population segment to prominence and success in America and other parts of the world. Brooklyn Caribbean Youth Fest: Heritage is Timeless is a sharing experience that help to keep intact our traditonal values while meldimg into American popular culture.
