Creative Writing Competition in Guyana PDF Print E-mail
The Commonwealth Youth Programme Caribbean Centre (CYPCC) launched a local creative writing and art competition depicting Commonwealth Day theme 'Respecting Difference, Promoting Understanding' for school age children on March 12, 2007 in Georgetown, Guyana.

The creative writing and arts competition which is a collaborative venture with the Ministry of Education, The Canadian High Commission and Iwokrama Rainforest International, is intended for primary and secondary school students between ages 10 to 16 years.

The first phase will produce eleven first place winners, one each from the eleven educational districts in Guyana. These winners will then be judged at the national level to select first to third places.

All entries are expected to be submitted by April 30 and will be judged by a panel of judges from the Ministry of Education and Commonwealth Youth Programme Caribbean Centre.

Primary and secondary entries will be judged in separate categories.
